About

Tyson is the Co-Lead of our Indigenous Law Group. He advises Indigenous Nations on issues relating to governance, project participation, community engagement, rights and title strategies, and shared decision making.

EXPERTISE

Tyson advises governments of Indigenous Nations and their related entities on governance, commercial, rights and title, and project-related issues. He negotiates with project proponents and government authorities throughout all phases of resource and infrastructure activity in traditional territories.

Tyson helps develop and amend governance structures that are unique to each Nation’s culture and objectives. He also works with clients to develop and execute community engagement strategies – often spending significant time within communities to better understand members’ concerns and objectives.

WORTH NOTING

Before law, Tyson spent four years working in various positions supporting young adults with developmental disabilities and continues to support the work of the Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion.

When he’s not in the office, you’ll find Tyson hiking the Grouse Grind, enjoying a beer on a local patio, or catching a Raptors game.
