Rob is a founding partner of Miller Titerle LLP and has a broad corporate and commercial law practice. Prior to establishing Miller Titerle LLP, Rob worked at a large national law firm and, prior to that, in the forest industry.

Rob acts for clients in a variety of industries. His experience includes:

  • structuring business vehicles such as corporations, partnerships, joint ventures and trusts
  • negotiating and drafting commercial agreements, including asset and share purchase agreements, forestry agreements (such as fibre supply agreements, log purchase agreements, timber harvesting contracts and subcontracts and other service agreements), mining agreements (such as royalty agreements, offtake agreements and construction contracts), energy agreements (such as electricity purchase agreements) and climate change agreements (such as emission reduction purchase agreements for carbon offsets)
  • providing advice on regulatory matters such as the provincial regulatory regimes for mining, energy and forestry

Rob also acts for a number of First Nations on economic development and resource use matters. He particularly enjoys assisting First Nations communities negotiate partnerships with industry. In addition, he has helped clients structure and implement carbon offset projects in Canada and abroad.

Rob has organized reforestation projects in Central America on a volunteer basis. He is a member (and the former Vice-President) of the Hooplaw Society, a not for profit organization devoted to improving the life of disadvantaged youth in the Lower Mainland. In 2010, Rob was elected as a member of the executive committee of the Vancouver Bar Association, an organization representing the interests of lawyers in Vancouver County. He also does pro-bono legal work for local charities and First Nations organizations.

Rob graduated from the University of Victoria with an honours degree with distinction, and subsequently from the University of British Columbia law school with a certificate in natural resource law.
