Shellina is kind, hard working, and soulful, and she expects the same of you. Shellina believes in contributing to the greater good. She hopes working at MT+Co. will enable her to do her small part in the bigger picture.
“When I first came to MT+Co., I knew that this is where I wanted to be. It was easy to see that the firm embodies a group of passionate people. It is a firm where people care about each other and the work they do. It’s a place where you can have fun without hierarchy, a place where I can call home.”
Shellina’s desire is to continue to learn and develop her technological abilities to better serve clients and the community.
It’s hard to believe given her young face and fresh energy, but Shellina has over twenty years experience as a legal assistant in areas she feels passionately about: Indigenous law, labour and employment law, and litigation.
Shellina’s education in business administration and legal assistance comes from Capilano University where she obtained a Legal Assistant Certificate.
Shellina builds on her impressive work experience and education by continuing to take classes online within the legal field.
Shellina has teamed up with the Obbaki foundation to help promote clean water in Africa, in particular in Kampala, Uganda, where she was born. Shellina has combined her love for knitting (the cool knitting kind) with her desire to help raise funds for Uganda by contributing a portion of sales from her handmade chunky knits (check her out on Instagram under Wool Parade).
Looking to get out-of-town and on the road, Shellina and her family recently purchased a fully converted Fed Ex van. They plan to take Ziggy, their big muppet dog, on many road trips despite his resistance to travel.
+I’m not a lawyer, I just run the place.
